Collaborations...

It's always interesting when two musical artists come together to blend their individual talents...it's even more interesting when the two artists sounds are so different from each other.
It's often hit or miss, but i can safely say that these collaborations between artists in the electronic music scene definitely work, and provide something to suit everyone's musical tastes.

If one collaboration wasn't enough, the masters behind the reggae/dancehall collaboration Major Lazer, (Diplo & Switch) have teamed up with well known electro pop act, La Roux. This mixtape combines tracks from La Roux's self titled album, as well as Major Lazers: 'Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do'. The result is a blend of the best of La Roux with a chilled out dancehall vibe and even some dub sounds.

Diplo has definitely been a busy man. Along with this La Roux collab, an even more interesting pairing has brought about the electro stomper "C'mon". Pairing up with none other than Tiesto, this track combines euphoric trance buildups and riffs and drops into a solid electro sound at a dance-able 130 bpm.

I can't stop posting tracks from Afrojack, but for a good reason. This guy keeps releasing tracks that will ultimately find their way into any Dj's set. His tracks are very dance-able thanks to his solid hard hitting drum beats that drive most of his tracks. If its those tripped out high pitch sounds you desire after you've knocked back a few drinks or something else.... then his collaboration with The PartySquad will suit your ears perfectly. If your after a slower but still solid track with a tech-house feel, then his collabs with Bobby Burns will give you just that. If you're after a strange/slightly off drop then check out his collab with Sidney Samson.

This track below is an older 2009 track from Afrojack and Bobby Burns, but if you haven't already heard it, get it now..its a banger!

A well known collaboration in the Dubstep game is that of Excision and Datsik, both dubbers have established themselves as heavy hitters in their own right as well as giving birth to a new breed of Dubstep in the form of their number 1 track 'Swagga'. The result of this successful pairing is pure and utter filth that will please any dub head looking for their latest fix of mind melting, ear bleeding noise.

Enjoy.
