Winter Madness

It annoys me that so many artists come to Australia, only to skip Adelaide on their 'National' tour. However, there are a few upcoming events that are light on the wallet, but heavy on the ears! No more excuses for Winter boredom in Adelaide! Make the effort and support these events now, and show these artists that Adelaide's music scene well and truly exists.

Firstly, I present We Love Sounds on the 14th of June. This is a rare daytime Winter Festival, and if electro beats have been repetitively played through your headphones lately, this festival cannot be missed. Feel free to wait months for the next big festival, but I am more than happy to spend $100 on a guaranteed day of all-round ridiculousness. Artists include: Laidback Luke, Crookers, Underworld, Steve Aoki, The Proxy, Tiga and Zombie Nation! Last year We Love Sounds was a crazy day, and whilst it was raining, partiers took no notice and danced the day dark. I can't wait to feel the anxious excitement at pre-drinks, and then go on to experience some of my favourite artists with a crowd of thousands.
Fellow blogger SHiFTY (Rashaad) is now selling tickets at $105, contact him through comments or facebook for a loud and messy day.

Next up, DJ Premier is performing in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney alongside the Beatnuts, Nick Javas, Masta Ace & Edo G. This is RAP CITY 2010 , and has huge potential! DJ Premier will be spinning his signature sound, with live mc's spittin' in accompaniment to Premo's bassline heavy rythm and perfectly produced instrumentals.
Hosted at HQ, there is a huge capacity for Adelaide's Hip Hop scene to attend, and these acts will be dope! Check out the facebook group and click attending if you are prepared to witness 5 hours of original rhyme on Friday June 11th.

Two underground HQ events are also hitting the South this Winter..

Hostile Takeover. A ravewear friendly hardstyle, hardhouse, hardcore and Drum n Bass event will hit HQ Adelaide on Friday June 11. Full of glowstringers and huge lasers, this $15 dollar event will be quite an auditory and visual experience! Check out the facebook page, and if you haven't seen glowstringing before check it out on youtube.. quite a trippy art!

A Trance/Tech/Progressive event called Airport will be sure to satisfy anyone into quality mixing and euphoric sounds. Airport will be home to Simon Patterson (World's #42 DJ), Sied Van Riel (World's #85 DJ), Trent Mcdermott (Aus #13), Aaron Camz, and a huge range of local talent (including Andrew Howlett and DJ Frost). These DJ's are mood-controllers; artists who slowly alter the crowd's atmosphere through song choice. Hosted at HQ during the day, this is a great way to listen to chilled music on Sunday the 11th of July for only $35.

I hope to see you all there!
